Network Message Chart

Module Network Input Messages: Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) 

Broadcast Message Originating Module Message Purpose
ABS active ABS module Used to the ABS is operational.
Autopark status PAM This message is sent to the GWM and then to the PSCM. This message is used by the PSCM to determine the steering angle required by the active park assist system to park the vehicle.
Ignition status BCM This message is sent to the GWM and then to the PSCM. This message informs the PSCM of the current ignition status; off, accessory, run, start, unknown or invalid.
Lane keep assist data IPMA This message is used by the PSCM to alert the driver of a potential lane departure or to correct a lane departure incident.
Reverse gear state PCM This message is sent to the GWM and then to the PSCM. Informs the PSCM the transmission is currently in REVERSE gear.
Steering angle request PAM This message is sent to the BCM, then to the GWM and then to the PSCM. This message is used to request steering direction for the active park assist system.
Stability control brake active ABS module Used to confirm the operational state of the stability control system.
Steering data SCCM This message provides the PSCM with the internal base electric power steering signal defining turn signal switch status.
Steering effort mode IPC This message is first sent to the GWM and then to the PSCM. This message provides the PSCM with the current, driver selected steering mode; normal, comfort or sport. The EPAS preforms differently depending on the mode selected.
Steering wheel angle compensation ABS module The ABS module calculates steering angle based on wheel speed sensor information. The PSCM uses this information to verify other steering wheel angle information,
Vehicle configuration information BCM This message is first sent to the GWM and then to the PSCM. Used to compare the PSCM configuration against the vehicles specific configuration (central car configuration).
Vehicle lateral acceleration ABS module Used to confirm vehicle motion and direction of travel.
Vehicle lateral acceleration RCM Used to confirm vehicle motion and direction of travel.
Vehicle yaw rate ABS module Used to confirm vehicle motion and direction of travel.
Wheel speed data ABS module Used to confirm vehicle motion, direction of travel and vehicle speed. Also used to calculate steering angle to validate EPAS motor position sensor information.
