Pinpoint Test AE : U3003:17 - SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module): Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Ford F-550 Super Duty, 2018 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and 2018 Ford F-250 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The SASM requires an operating voltage between 8 and 17 volts. The SASM receives fused ignition voltage from the BCM run-start bus and fused battery voltage from the BJB. The SASM has a single ground circuit. An overcharging condition in the charging system results in the SASM setting a DTC. This DTC may also set in the SASM due to battery charging or vehicle jump starting events.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| U3003:17 | Battery Voltage: Circuit Voltage Above Threshold | This DTC sets in continuous memory and on-demand if the voltage supplied to the SASM is above 18 volts. |
Possible Causes
- Charging system concern
- SASM-clockspring assembly
