Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Download the module information to the diagnostic tool using the Programmable Modules Installation routine. Refer to: Module Programming

Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment
Remove the LH fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
Remove the bolts and the PCM cover.
Torque: 28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)

Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Remove the nuts, pushpin and the PCM.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
