Symptom Chart - Steering System and NVH: Notes
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 27 other vehicles, including the 2022 Lincoln Navigator, 2022 Lincoln Nautilus, 2022 Lincoln Corsair, 2022 Lincoln Aviator, and 2022 Ford Transit-350 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Diagnostics in this article assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to
Diagnostic Methods in General Information, Description and Operation.
NOTE:
NVH
symptoms should be identified using the diagnostic tools available. For a list of these tools, an explanation of their uses and a glossary of common terms, refer to
the Noise, Vibration and Harshness article. Since it is possible any one of multiple systems may be the cause of a symptom, it may be necessary to use a process of elimination type diagnostic approach to pinpoint the responsible system. If this is not the causal system for the symptom, refer back to the Noise, Vibration and Harshness article for the next likely system and continue diagnostics.
NOTE:
If equipped, the Lane Centering Assist (LCA) and Lane Keeping System (LKS) can interfere with accurate EPAS
diagnostics. Disable the Lane Centering Assist (LCA) and Lane Keeping System (LKS) before test driving the vehicle to diagnose EPAS concerns. For information on disabling the Lane Centering Assist (LCA) and Lane Keeping System (LKS), refer to the Owner's Literature.
