Pinpoint Test P: Selector Lever Binding Or Difficult To Move - Requires Excessive Effort
- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
- Brake Shift Interlock (BSI)
- If the selector lever is stuck in the park position, GO to Pinpoint Test D
- If the selector lever can be moved from the park position, but movement is difficult, continue with this pinpoint test.
- Debris or interference on or near the selector lever
- Inspect the GSM for dirt, debris, or interference around the selector lever. CLEAN as necessary.
- Gear Shift Module (GSM)
- If the brake shift interlock (BSI) is releasing correctly and no debris or interference is present around the selector lever, INSTALL a new GSM. REFER to: Gear Shift Module (GSM) - Vehicles With: Column Shift .
