Pinpoint Test Cm: Abs (Anti-Lock Brake System) Module Communication Concern With HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) Pcm (Powertrain Control Module)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Ford Police Interceptor Utility and 2022 Ford Explorer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
The HEVPCM may also be known as the SOBDM or the ICS module.
REFER to: MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
With the ignition ON, the SOBDM sends messages to the ABS module through the GWM over the CAN. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within the specified time frame, the ABS module sets Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). This can be due to a SOBDM failure, a circuit failure on the CAN or an excessive load on the network. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the SOBDM, REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control - System Operation and Component Description .
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Condition |
|---|---|---|
| ABS U0293:00 | Lost Communication With Hybrid/EV Powertrain Control Module "A": No Sub Type Information | Sets if the ABS module does not receive any messages from the SOBDM. |
| ABS U0594:86 | Invalid Data Received From Hybrid/EV Powertrain Control Module "A": Signal Invalid | Sets if the ABS module receives a fault message in the regenerative brake wheel torque message from the SOBDM. |
