Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

De-energize the high voltage system. Refer to: High Voltage System De-energizing - Full Hybrid Electric Vehicle (FHEV) .

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Download the module information to the diagnostic tool using the Programmable Modules Installation routine. Refer to: Module Programming
(418-01A Module Configuration, General Procedures). Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment
- Disconnect the battery negative terminal. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Remove the bolts and disconnect the high voltage cable, and position harness aside.
Torque
: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)
- Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors. Release the harness retainers from the lower PCM cover to position aside the harnesses.
- Release the retaining clips and remove the PCM cover.
- Release the retainer clips and remove the PCM.
