Powertrain/Drivetrain Mount Neutralizing: Adjustment

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. If equipped. Remove the bolts, pin type retainers and the underbody shield.

  3. Remove the battery tray. Refer to: BATTERY - 2.0L DURATEC-HE (110KW 150PS) - MI4 .
  4. Disconnect the pin-type retainers and position the wire harness aside.

  5. Remove the nuts and the battery tray support bracket.

  6. 2.0L 

  7. Loosen, but do not remove the transmission mounting assembly nuts.

  8. Position the degas bottle aside.

  9. Loosen, but do not remove the engine mount bolts.

  10. Loosen, but do not remove the 2 roll restrictor bolts. Verify that the roll restrictor is loose.

  11. All vehicles 

  12. Install the battery. Refer to: BATTERY - 2.0L DURATEC-HE (110KW 150PS) - MI4 .
  13. NOTE: Do not twist or strain the powertrain/drivetrain mounts or damage to the mounts may occur.

    Start the vehicle and move it forward 0.6 m (1.97 ft) - 1.2 m (3.94 ft).

  14. NOTE: Do not twist or strain the powertrain/drivetrain mounts or damage to the mounts may occur.

    Move the vehicle in reverse the same distance 0.6 m (1.97 ft) - 1.2 m (3.94 ft).

  15. Remove the battery. Refer to: BATTERY - 2.0L DURATEC-HE (110KW 150PS) - MI4 .
  16. 2.0L 

  17. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  18. Tighten the roll restrictor bolt.

    Torque

    : 76 lb.ft (103 Nm)

  19. Tighten the transmission mounting assembly nuts.

    Torque

    : 129 lb.ft (175 Nm)

  20. Tighten the engine mount bolts.

    Torque

    : 66 lb.ft (90 Nm)

  21. Position back the degas bottle.

  22. All vehicles 

  23. Position the wire harness aside back and install the pin-type retainers.

  24. Install the battery tray support bracket.

    Torque

    : 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

  25. Install the battery tray. Refer to: BATTERY - 2.0L DURATEC-HE (110KW 150PS) - MI4 .
  26. If equipped. Install the underbody shield and the retainers.

  27. Test the system for normal operation.
