Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The ATCM rotary encoder uses an optical sensor to determine the position and movement of the rotary dial. The ATCM monitors the optical sensor circuitry for opens and shorts. The ATCM monitors internal LED circuits, EEPROM, and application memory for faults.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC	Description	Fault Trigger Condition
ATCM U2009:9E	Rotary Encoder: Stuck On	The ATCM has detected a short or open circuit for the rotary encoder optical sensor. This fault is internal to the ATCM. INSTALL a new ATCM. REFER to: All Terrain Control Module (ATCM) .
ATCM U3000:04	Control Module: System Internal Failures	Sets when the ATCM detects an internal failure. INSTALL a new ATCM. REFER to: All Terrain Control Module (ATCM) .
