DTC Trigger

This DTC sets if the PSCM calibration data does not match the PSCM software version.
Pinpoint Test Purpose
To verify PSCM C1110 is present and provide diagnostics if DTC C1110 is currently present and active in the PSCM.
- AA1: CHECK VEHICLE HISTORY
- Check the vehicle history for recent service actions related to the:
- PSCM
- Steering gear
- Steering column
- Electronic steering actuator
- Have there been any recent service actions related to the components listed above?
Yes No REPEAT the PMI procedure as directed by the diagnostic scan tool or CONFIGURE the PSCM using vehicle as-built data. Go to AA2. - Check the vehicle history for recent service actions related to the:
- AA2: VERIFY THE PSCM DTC
- Clear the PSCM DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- Ignition ON, engine running.
Carry out the PSCM self-test.
- Does DTC C1110 return?
Yes No Go to AA3. The condition causing the DTC is not present at this time. - AA3: VERIFY PSCM CONFIGURATION
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, configure the PSCM. Refer to the Module Configuration article.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- Ignition ON, engine running.
Carry out the PSCM self-test.
- Does DTC C1110 return?
Yes No INSTALL a new EPAS steering column.
REFER to the Steering Column article. ORDER a replacement EPAS column and INCLUDE the RVC on the form.
If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.The condition causing the DTC is not present at this time.
