- When a new EPAS gear is installed, the PSCM is blank and must be configured with the vehicle information. Configuration is checked during initial PSCM power up (ignition ON) with the voltage supply to the PSCM greater than 6 volts.

- This test applies to PSCMDTC U2300 Central Configuration not complete only. It does not apply to any other module except the PSCM.

- If the module DTC list results in a large number of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), diagnose all module hard faults first (C102D, C1B00, C200B, C200C, C200D, U2011 and U3000) before diagnosing any network faults (lost communication or invalid data). If voltage concern Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present, diagnose those after any module hard faults and before any network faults. Diagnose all current and active Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) before diagnosing any historic Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PSCM U2300:55 Central Configuration: Not Configured This DTC is set if the initial PSCM configuration was not carried out or if the configuration fails. PSCM U2300:56 Central Configuration: Invalid/Incompatible Configuration This DTC is set if the initial PSCM configuration was not carried out correctly or if the configuration was not completed. Possible Causes
- PSCM not configured
- PSCM configuration not complete
- R1 CHECK VEHICLE HISTORY
Check the vehicle history for recent service actions related to the following.- PSCM
- Steering Gear
- Steering Column
Have there been any recent service actions related to the components listed above?
Yes REPEAT the PMI procedure as directed by the diagnostic scan tool or CONFIGURE the PSCM using vehicle as-built data. No GO to R2 - R2 VERIFY THE PSCM (POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE) DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) S
- Ignition ON.
- Clear the PSCMDTC s.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- START engine.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out a self-test of the PSCM.
Does DTC U2300:xx return?
Yes GO to R3 No The condition causing the DTC to set is not present at this time. DISCONTINUE this test and REFER to the DTC Chart. - R3 VERIFY PSCM (POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE) CONFIGURATION
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, configure the PSCM. Refer to appropriate Module Configuration service information for the procedure.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
- START engine.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out a self-test of the PSCM.
Does DTC U2300:xx return?
Yes INSTALL a new EPAS gear. REFER to: Steering Gear .
