Pinpoint Test At: The Abs Module Does Not Respond To The Diagnostic Scan Tool
- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
With the ignition ON, the diagnostic scan tool communicates with the ABS module over the FD-CAN. Communications can be interrupted by a wiring condition such as a short to ground, a short to voltage or an open circuit; module failure is also a cause of no communication.
Possible Causes
- Fuses
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- ABS module
- AT1 VERIFY THE NO COMMUNICATION DIAGNOSTICS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED
- Diagnostics in service information article 418-00 MUST BE CARRIED OUT before continuing with this pinpoint test.
Has the appropriate pinpoint test in service information article 418-00 been carried out for the no communication concern?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new EBB unit REFER to: Electric Brake Booster (EBB) . No CARRY OUT the ABS module does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool pinpoint test. REFER to: Controller Area Network (CAN) Module Communications Network .
