Pinpoint Test An: The Approach Detection Feature Is Inoperative

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
REFER to: Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - System Operation and Component Description .
Possible Causes
- Approach detection disabled
- Passive entry system concern
- Courtesy lamp concern
- Exterior lamp concern
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- RKE system concern
- AN1 CHECK THE APPROACH DETECTION SETTING
- Ignition ON.
- Using the steering wheel control switch, check the approach detection setting in the message center.
Is the approach detection setting enabled?
Yes GO to AN2 No ENABLE the approach detection setting. - AN2 CHECK THE PASSIVE ENTRY FEATURE
- Ignition OFF.
- Check the passive entry feature of both front doors and the liftgate.
Does the passive entry feature operate from the front doors and the liftgate?
Yes GO to AN3 No For a door passive entry concern, GO to Pinpoint Test M For a liftgate passive entry concern, GO to Pinpoint Test N - AN3 CHECK THE ILLUMINATED ENTRY OPERATION
- Close all the doors and lock the vehicle.
- While observing the exterior lamps and the courtesy lamps, unlock the vehicle using a valid programmed passive key.
Does the illuminated entry feature operate correctly?
Yes System is operating correctly at this time. No REFER to: Interior Lighting .
