Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

Download the module information to the diagnostic tool using the Programmable Modules Installation routine. Refer to: Module Programming .

NOTE: Vehicles equipped with powertrain control module (PCM) security shieldNOTE: Make sure tool 418-537 is centered over the security shield bolts before drilling.
Using the special tool 418-537 and 6mm drill bit, drill out the security shield bolts.Use Suggested Tool: 418-537 Drill Bushing, Powertrain Control Module. Tool shown or a commercially available equivalent can be used.Use the General Equipment: 6 mm Drill Bit

Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors. Release the harness retainers from the cover and position aside the harness.
- Remove the bracket from the PCM cover.

NOTE: LH shown below, RH similar.
Remove the nuts and the PCM and cover.
Torque: 7.1 Nm
- Remove the bolts and the PCM from the cover.
Torque: 6.2 Nm
