Update CDI Control Module Software

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter vehicles, has determined that a small number of vehicles may be equipped with CDI control module software that does not meet current specifications. A CDI control module software update must be installed in the affected vehicles to correct this condition. Dealers will update the CDI control module software at the next workshop visit

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously
repaired.

^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 125 vehicles are affected.

Procedure

Note:

^ Use DAS/Xentry 03-04/2011 with all associated patches or higher.

^ Follow the steps exactly as described in DAS/Xentry.

Connect battery charger

1. Connect Star Diagnosis to vehicle.

2. Install software for CDI control module:
Control units/Drive/CDI control module/Control unit adaptations/Control unit programming.

3. Follow on-screen instructions.
