DELCO-REMY Pivoted Plate: Overhaul: Disassembly

Remove rotor. Disconnect primary and condenser leads from between plastic retainer and breaker set spring. Remove contact points adjusting hold-down screw and remove contact points assembly. Remove primary lead and retainer. Remove condenser and bracket. Remove screws from vacuum advance diaphragm bracket, using slight downward pressure to disengage lever, remove vacuum advance unit. Remove breaker plate attaching screws and remove breaker plate.

Remove roll pin retaining driven gear to mainshaft and slide gear from shaft. Slide cam and mainshaft from distributor housing. Remove weight cover and stop plate screws, remove the cover, weight springs, weights and slide cam assembly from mainshaft.
