Computers and Control Systems: Service Precautions

Before servicing electronic components, always turn ignition "OFF" first and then disconnect the battery ground.

NOTE:
^ Before removing battery ground, access trouble codes. Control Module memory will be erased if ground cable is removed.

^ Fuel and Engine Control System wiring should be at least 4 inches away from ignition wires.
