Cruise Control Does Not Engage
- Ensure I-3 (15-amp) and STOP/HAZ (15-amp) fuses are okay. Disconnect cruise control module connector. Turn ignition on. Connect test light between cruise control module connector terminal "F" (Brown wire) and ground. If test light glows, go to next step. If test light does not glow, repair open in Brown wire.
- Connect test light between cruise control connector terminal "D" (Purple wire) and ground. If test light glows, go to next step. If test light does not glow, check TCC/brakelight switch for proper adjustment. Also check for open in Purple wire. If adjustment and circuit are okay, replace TCC/brakelight switch.
- Connect test light between cruise control connector terminal "G" (Light Blue wire) and ground. If test light does not glow, go to next step. If test light glows, check TCC/brakelight switch for proper adjustment. If adjustment is okay, repair short to power in Light Blue wire.
- Turn cruise control on. Connect test light between cruise control connector terminal "A" (Gray wire) and ground. If test light does not glow, go to next step. If test light glows, go to step 7).
- Using test light, backprobe cruise control switch terminal "B" (Gray wire) and ground. If test light does not glow, go to next step. If test light glows, repair open in Gray wire.
- Using test light, backprobe cruise control switch terminal "A" (Brown wire) and ground. If test light does not glow, repair open in Brown wire. If test light glows, replace cruise control switch.
- Connect test light between cruise control module connector terminals "A" (Gray wire) and "E" (Black wire). If test light glows, go to next step. If test light does not glow, repair open in Black wire.
- Connect test light between cruise control module connector terminal "B" (Dark Blue wire) and ground. Press and hold SET/COAST button. If test light does not glow, go to next step. If test light glows, go to step 10).
- Using test light, backprobe between cruise control switch connector terminal "D" (Dark Blue wire) and ground. Press and hold SET/COAST button. If test light glows, repair open in Dark Blue wire. If test light does not glow, replace cruise control switch.
- Using Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM), check voltage between cruise control module connector terminal "K" (Dark Green/White wire on VIN J, Dark Green wire on all others) and ground. If reading is less than 7 volts, check for open in Dark Green/White or Dark Green wire. If reading is greater than 7 volts, replace cruise control module.
