DTC 71 - Internal Inflatable Restraint Control Module Failure: Description
DTC 71 is an indication of potential internal inflatable restraint control module malfunction and will set if any of the following conditions are detected:
1) 23 VLR voltage out of normal operating range.
2) Crash data recording reserve voltage discharge time failure for 3 consecutive ignition cycles.
3) Calculated checksum for internal memory does not match stored value.
4) Driver or passenger deployment loop is shorted to ground.
5) Accelerometer is malfunctioning.
6) Driver or passenger current source is malfunctioning.
7) Temporary memory storage is malfunctioning.
8) Inflatable restraint control module is unable to read or write to EEPROM.
9) Arming sensor inside inflatable restraint control module is not closed during deployment event.
10) Voltage measured at DRIVER-SIDE LOW and PASSENGER-SIDE LOW is too low.
11) Device inside inflatable restraint control module that arms system for deployment is malfunctioning.
12) Permanent memory storage area is malfunctioning.
