Shift Lock Solenoid (Column Shift): Removal
- Disable the SIR system. See appropriate AIR BAG DEACTIVATION PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION. Remove the steering column trim covers. See STEERING COLUMN PARK LOCK SOLENOID (FLOOR SHIFT) .
- Disconnect the shift lock solenoid harness connector. Put the shift lever clevis into the Neutral position. See Figure.
- Use a small screwdriver to pry the shift lock solenoid away from the steering column jacket and the cable shift cam assembly. Remove the shift lock solenoid. See Figure.
