Unable To Select Gears: Notes

  1. Did you review the clutch symptom operations and perform the necessary inspections? If yes, go to next step. If no, see DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT .
  2. Inspect the fluid level in the master cylinder. Is the fluid at the proper level? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  4.
  3. Diagnose the transmission. Does the clutch system operate properly? If yes, system is okay. If no, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the master cylinder. Is the master cylinder worn or faulty? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  6.
  5. Replace the clutch master cylinder. See CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER & RESERVOIR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Does the clutch operate properly? If yes, system is okay. If no, go to next step.
  6. Inspect the concentric slave cylinder. Is the concentric slave cylinder worn or faulty? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  7. Replace the concentric slave cylinder. See CONCENTRIC SLAVE (ACTUATOR) CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
