Transfer Case Neutral Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.




2. Disconnect the brown engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the brown NEUTRAL switch electrical connector (6).




3. Disconnect the brown NEUTRAL switch electrical connector (2) from the bracket (3).
4. Remove the transfer case NEUTRAL switch (1) and gasket (4) from the transfer case.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice.

1. Install the transfer case NEUTRAL switch (1) and gasket (4) into the transfer case.

Tighten the neutral switch to 39 N.m (29 lb ft).

2. Connect the brown NEUTRAL switch electrical connector (2) to the bracket (3).




3. Connect the brown engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the brown NEUTRAL switch electrical connector (6).
4. Lower the vehicle.
