Removal Procedure

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
    2. NOTE:

    Do not remove the spare wheel hoist.

  2. Remove the spare tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Spare Wheel Hoist Replacement .
    3. Fig 1: Trailer Brake Control Module Bracket Bolts

  3. Disconnect the trailer brake control module and trailer brake control relay electrical connectors.
  4. Loosen, but do not remove, the trailer brake control module bracket bolts (1).
  5. Slide the trailer brake control module bracket toward the right of the vehicle and remove assembly from the vehicle.

  6. Loosen, but do not remove, the trailer brake control module bolts (1).

  7. Slide the trailer brake control module (1) to remove the module assembly from the bracket.
