Removal Procedure

- Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool to separate the steering column upper trim cover (1) from the steering column lower trim cover.
- Position the steering column upper trim (1) cover out of the way.
- Remove Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (1). Refer to Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Equinox)Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Terrain)
- With the wheels of the vehicle in the straight ahead position, LOCK the steering column.
- Remove Instrument Panel Knee Bolster (1). Refer to Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement (Equinox)Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement (Terrain)
- Remove Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side (2). Refer to Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side
- Remove Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) @ Steering Column. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Equinox)Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Terrain)
- Disconnect the steering column electrical connectors as necessary.
- Remove Steering Column (1). Refer to Steering Column Replacement (Equinox)Steering Column Replacement (Terrain)
- Remove the brake pedal assembly (1). Refer to Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement
- Remove Mode Valve Actuator (2). Refer to Mode Valve Actuator Replacement
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove Heater and Air Conditioning Mode Control Cam Cover Bolt (1) (Qty: 3)
- Remove Heater and Air Conditioning Mode Control Cam Cover (2)
- Remove Mode Control Cam (1)
- Remove Mode Control Cam (2)
- Remove Defroster Valve Lever (3)
- Remove Mode Valve Lever (4)
NOTE:
The heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module is shown out of the vehicle for clarity.
