Installation Procedure
Reset the rear side door outside handle bracket counter balance (2) as follows:
- The outside door handle Can Not be installed until the counter balance (2) is reset.
- Grasp the rear side door outside handle bracket (1) with one hand.
- From the back side of the counter balance (2), push forward on the counter balance (2) until it can be held in place using the bracket clip. (3)
Rear Side Door Outside Handle Bracket Cable (1) @ Counter Balance (2) - Install
Rear Side Door Outside Handle Bracket Cable (1) @ Rear Side Door Outside Handle Bracket Retainer (2) - Install [ 3x ]
Rear Side Door Latch (2) - Install - Rear Side Door Latch Replacement
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Rear Side Door Outside Handle Bracket Screw (1) - Install and tighten 5 N.m (44 lb in)
NOTE:- Ensure that the counter balance is reset and locked in the detent of the handle bracket. The counter balance Can Not be reset after the latch and handle bracket has been reinstalled in the door.
- Bracket should be slid full rearward prior to tightening bracket screw.

- Ensure that the door system operates properly before installing the trim.
