Removal Procedure

    Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool to separate the steering column upper trim cover (1) from the steering column lower trim cover.

  2. Position the steering column upper trim (1) cover out of the way.

    Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (1) - Remove - Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Equinox) , or Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Terrain)

  4. With the wheels of the vehicle in the straight ahead position, LOCK the steering column.

    Instrument Panel Knee Bolster (1) - Remove - Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement (Equinox) , or Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement (Terrain)

    Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side(2) - Remove - Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side

    Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) @Steering Column - Remove - Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Equinox) , or Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Terrain)

  8. Disconnect the steering column electrical connectors as necessary.

    Steering Column (1) - Remove - Steering Column Replacement (Equinox) , or Steering Column Replacement (Terrain)

    Remove the brake pedal assembly. (1) Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement

    Mode Valve Actuator(2) - Remove - Mode Valve Actuator Replacement 

  12. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    NOTE:

    The heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module is shown out of the vehicle for clarity.

    Heater and Air Conditioning Mode Control Cam Cover Bolt (1) - Remove[3x]

    Mode Control Cam (1) - Remove

  16. Mode Control Cam(2) - Remove
  17. Defroster Valve Lever (3) - Remove
  18. Mode Valve Lever(4) - Remove
