Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement - Engine Block

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LSY) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 LSY)
  2. Remove the intake manifold and throttle body as an assembly. Intake Manifold Replacement
1 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
CAUTION:

Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor electrical wiring harness connector.
  2. Apply thread locking compound to the threads of the engine coolant temperature sensor. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
