Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief 
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Fuel Tank Draining 
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Chassis Front Wiring Harness Ground Bolt (1) - Remove

  5. Reposition the chassis front wiring harness ground (2).

    Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (1) - Loosen

  7. Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2) - Remove

    Disengage the evaporative emission canister filter pipe retainer (1).

  9. Fuel Feed Hose (2) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  10. Evaporative Emission Canister Filter Pipe (3) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Place a suitable adjustable jack under the fuel tank.

  12. Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
  13. Fuel Tank Strap (2) - Remove [2x]

    Lower the fuel tank, allowing clearance to access connections at the top of the tank.

  15. Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)

    Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Hose (1) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 

  17. Disconnect the electrical connectors. (2)
  18. Wiring Harness Clip (3) - Disengage [2x]
  19. Wiring Harness (4) - Reposition

    Fuel Tank (1) - Remove

  21. Remove the jack.

    Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (1) - Loosen

  23. Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2) - Remove

    Fuel Tank Shield Retainer (1) - Remove [5x]

  25. Fuel Tank Heat Shield (2) - Remove

    Fuel Tank Shield Retainer (1) - Remove [4x]

  27. Fuel Tank Shield (2) - Remove [2x]

    Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Hose (1) - Disconnect [2x] - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 

  29. Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Hose (1) @ Fuel Feed Hose Clip (2) - Disengage [2x]
  30. Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Hose (1) @ Fuel Feed and Return Hose Clip (3) - Disengage [2x]
  31. Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Hose (1) - Remove

    Fuel Feed Hose (1) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 

  33. Fuel Feed Hose (1) @ Fuel Feed and Return Hose Clip (2) - Disengage [2x]
  34. Fuel Feed Hose (1) - Remove

    Fuel Sender Retainer (1) - Remove - use CH-45722  Fuel Sender Lock Ring Wrench (2)

    Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module (1) - Remove

  37. Fuel Sender Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD
