Circuit/System Verification
- Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Verify that no DTCs are set.
- If any of the DTC(s) are set
- Go to next step: If no other DTCs are set
- Review the battery energy control module scan tool parameters DC Fast Charge History 1-5. Verify if the history parameters identify 12V battery state of charge as an inhibit reason.
- If the 12V battery state of charge inhibited series fast charging
- Test and replace the 12V battery as necessary.
If the 12V battery tests OK, the 12V battery was too cold or hot during the series fast charge event.
- Go to next step: If the 12V battery state of charge did not inhibit series fast charging
- Review the battery energy control module scan tool parameters DC Fast Charge History 1-5. Verify if the history parameters identify pack balance as an inhibit reason.
- If pack balance inhibited series fast charging
- Replacement/repair of the A4 Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Battery Pack is required to allow for series fast charging.
- Go to next step: If pack balance did not inhibit series fast charging
- The A4 Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Battery Pack was either too hot or too cold when series fast charging was attempted. Advise the customer of extreme temperature inhibit Condition preventing fast charging.
