REVISION HISTORY
This TSB supersedes TSB 23-BE-012G to update the USB part number on page 1, add op code regarding AVN head unit replacement on page 2, and add steps on pages 5-6 with instructions to activate Genesis Connected Services and replace the Head unit, if necessary.
DESCRIPTION
On certain 17-19MY G90 (HI) vehicles, the DIS2.0 head units may experience any of the following symptom(s): (1) Battery Drain, (2) Genesis Connected Services (GCS) Activation Issues, (3) Genesis Connected Services Remote Service Failures, (4) Genesis Connected Services Point of Interest Failures. Follow the instructions in this TSB to update the AVN.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Customers experiencing Genesis Connected Services (GCS) issues must be enrolled in GCS prior to attempting the update. The update will be unsuccessful if customer is no longer enrolled in services.

- All 2017-2019MY G90 (HI) vehicles experiencing any of the condition(s) listed above.

- Normal warranty applies.
- Submit claim on Claim Entry Screen as "Warranty" type.
- This TSB includes Repair validation photos. Op times including VIN, Mileage, and Repair validation photos as outlined in the Digital Documentation Policy.
- If a part is found in need of replacement while performing this bulletin and the affected part is still under warranty, please submit a separate claim using the same repair order. If the affected part is out of warranty, submit a Prior Approval request for goodwill consideration prior to performing the work.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
STUI
This TSB includes Repair validation photos. Refer to the latest Warranty Digital Documentation Policy for requirements.
Information
- Confirm that the vehicle exhibits a battery drain issue, or GCS related issue(s) listed in the Description.
- Do NOT remove the software update USB or turn OFF the IGN switch during the update.
- Turning OFF the ignition will negatively affect the update.
- Turn ON the ignition.
Information
Verify customer is enrolled in Genesis Connected Services (GCS) before attempting the update. The update will be unsuccessful if customer is no longer enrolled.
- Contact Techline with IMEI (A) to confirm if service line is active. Do not continue unless service line has been confirmed as active by Techline.
- STUI
Using STUI, take a picture of the USB stick near the USB Port with the last six digits of the VIN and date of the inspection included. Upload the photo to STUI.
- Insert the USB into the front multi jack (B).
- In approximately 4 minutes, the AVN will be rebooted and go blank as demonstrated in the example photos.
The Genesis Logo will return and request the user to Confirm (C) the safety message.
- Remove the USB immediately after reboot.
Information
If USB is NOT removed, the reset process will be repeated.
- Go to Home -> Setup -> Bluelink.
If GCS shows Not Active (D) press the Service Activation (E) button and confirm Activation Successful (F) displays.
If GCS shows Active (G), proceed to step 8.
- Press the hard reset button (H).
- Confirm the condition(s) listed in the Description on page 1 are no longer happening.
If OK, service procedure is complete.
If not, proceed to step 10.
- If any of the conditions are still present, a Head Unit replacement will be required.
PA Approval Required for Replacement
If replacement of the AVN head unit is required and head unit is out of warranty, please submit a Prior Approval (PA) request for approval with the following:
- Copy of the vehicle's repair order
- Showing condition/symptom still present for head unit related to Genesis Connected Services (Connected Services Activation Issue, Remove Service Failure, Point of Interest Failure) or battery drain
Please ensure PA Repair group is 'OTHER' and claim type is 'GOODWILL'. PA will review Dealer's request upon submission. Once PA Is approved, the dealer may order the necessary replacement part.
Contact Techline with the replacement IMEI information (I) before installing replacement unit as the IMEI from replacement unit needs to be activated first.
Replace head unit then repeat steps 4- 10. Confirm all GCS functions are working. If OK, service procedure is complete.
Information
Do NOT install replacement unit until IMEI has been confirmed to be activated.
