Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Turn ignition OFF switch and the disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
  2. Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir with a syringe.
    NOTE:
    • Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle, it may damage the paint; if brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it off immediately with water.
    • Make sure no dirt or other foreign matter is allowed to contaminate the brake fluid.
  3. Separate the reservoir hose (A).

  4. Remove the brake booster.

    (Refer to Brake System - "BRAKE BOOSTER ")

  5. Remove the clip (A) and then separate the clutch tube (B).

  6. Remove the crash pad lower panel.

    (Refer to Body - "CRASH PAD LOWER PANEL ")

  7. Remove the knee airbag.

    (Refer to Restraint - "KNEE AIRBAG (KAB) MODULE ")

  8. Loosen the mounting nut (A) and separate the interior junction block.

  9. Disconnect the stop lamp switch connector (A).

  10. Remove the clutch & ignition lock switch.

    Tightening torque  :

    16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)

    1. Loosen the clutch & brake pedal upper mounting bolt and nuts (A).

    2. Loosen the clutch & brake pedal mounting nuts (B).

    3. Disconnect the clutch & ignition lock switch connector (C).

    4. Remove the clutch & brake pedal assembly (D).

    5. Loosen the bolts and then removing the clutch & ignition lock switch (A).
