Removal and Installation
- Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
- Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE COVER ")
- Remove the RH air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the RH intercooler inlet pipe.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER ")
- Disconnect the alternator connector (A).
- Disconnect the cable (B) from the 'B' terminal after removing the mounting nut.
Tightening torque:
18.6 - 24.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.5 kgf.m, 13.7 - 18.1 lb-ft)
- Remove the drive belt.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "DRIVE BELT ")
- Remove the alternator mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque:
49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)
- Remove the idler cap and then remove the idler (A).
Tightening torque:
53.9 - 55.9 N.m (5.5 - 5.7 kgf.m, 39.8 - 41.2 lb-ft)
- Remove the alternator (A).
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
