Removal And Installation
- Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
- When removing using a remover, be careful not to damage the parts.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
- Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
- Drain the motor coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
- Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/recycling/charging station.
(Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning - "REFRIGERANT RECOVERY/RECYCLING/CHARGING/VACUUM ")
- Remove the front bumper beam assembly.
(Refer to Front End Module - "FRONT BUMPER BEAM ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the head lamps.
(Refer to Light & Vision System - "HEAD LAMPS ")
- Remove the combo charger inlet assembly.
(Refer to Battery Control System - "COMBO CHARGER INLET ASSEMBLY ")
- Disconnect the front end module main connector (A).
- Separate the reservoir tank cooling hose (A).
- Separate the hood latch release handle cable (A).
- Separate the suction & liquid line (A), after removing the nuts.
Tightening torque: 8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the cooling fan connector (A).
- Separate the radiator outlet hose (A).
- Separate the water condenser cooling hose (A).
- Remove the carrier assembly (A) from the body.
Tightening torque: 25.5 - 38.2 N.m (2.6 - 3.9 kgf.m, 18.8 - 28.2 lb-ft)
- Remove the stiffener assembly.
(Refer to Front End Module - "STIFFENER ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the horn.
(Refer to Front End Module - "HORN ")
- Remove the smart key antenna.
(Refer to Security & Vehicle Ignition System - "SMART KEY SYSTEM ")
- Remove the condenser.
(Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning - "CONDENSER ")
- Remove the cooling fan assembly.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLING FAN ")
- Remove the radiator.
(Refer to Cooling System - "RADIATOR ")
- Remove the hood latch.
(Refer to Hood - "HOOD LATCH ")
- Install in the reverse order of removal.NOTE:
- Turn the power switch ON; the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
Information
- Make sure the connector is connected properly.
- Replace any damaged clips or retainers.
