Heater Core: Service and Repair

Fig. 7 Heater Unit:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
2. Disconnect heater hoses.
3. Remove steering column.
4. Remove center console and instrument panel.
5. Remove instrument panel center support.
6. Disconnect all electrical connections and mode and temperature control cables from heater unit, Fig. 7.
7. Remove defroster and speedometer cable retaining bracket from heater unit.
8. Disconnect fastener bolts, grommets and floor duct from heater case.
9. Remove heater unit.
10. Remove heater core from heater unit.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
