Vacuum Advance Diagnosis

Vacuum Advance Inspection:

1. Remove the distributor cap.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum advance controller.
3. Apply a vacuum (about 400 mm Hg) to the vacuum controller with a vacuum pump, and the release it.
4. Make sure that the distributor generator moves smoothly against the base plate. If not the distributor should be replaced.
5. Reconnect the vacuum hose to the vacuum controller.
6. Reinstall the distributor cap.
