Crank Angle Sensors

The distributor and sensors are designed as an assembly to conserve space and weight. The unit consists of a pair of rotors (TDC and CYL), and a pick-up for each rotor. The rotors and camshaft rotate simultaneously, as they are coupled together.

The CYL sensor detects position of cylinder No. 1 as a starting point for sequential injection. The TDC sensor serves to determine injection timing for each cylinder. The TDC sensor is also used to detect engine speed, in order read out basic discharge duration for different operating conditions.
