Idle Speed Control System: Notes

Idle speed of engine is controlled by Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV) or fast idle valve. Idle speed on Civic models is controlled solely by EACV. EACV signals from ECU are based upon various sensor input signals. These signals may include any or all of following: charging system voltage signal, transmission gear selector position signal (auto. trans.), power steering oil pressure switch signal, air conditioning clutch signal, clutch switch signal (man. trans.) and brake switch signal.
