Main Relay Harness Testing
- Turn ignition off. Remove main relay (located under left side of instrument panel). Disconnect relay harness connector. Check continuity between ground and No. 2 terminal of relay harness. See Fig 1
. Repair as necessary. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 of harness. Battery voltage should be available.

- If there is no voltage, check wire harness between battery and main relay as well as ECU fuse which is located in main fuse box.
- Check voltage between ground and terminal No. 5 of harness. Battery voltage should be available. If there is no voltage, check for open in wire between ignition switch and main relay as well as ignition fuse.
- Connect voltmeter between ground and terminal No. 4 of harness. Turn ignition switch to "START" position. Battery voltage should be indicated. If there is no voltage reading, check No. 4 wire for open or short between ignition switch and main relay. Also, check ignition crank fuse.
- Connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 5 and 7 of main relay harness. Turn ignition on. Fuel pump should operate. If fuel pump does not operate, check wiring between battery and fuel pump and wiring from fuel pump to ground (Black wire).
