Pressure Regulator

NOTE: If fuel pressure is not within specification of 36-41 psi (2.55-2.85 kg/cm2 ) with vacuum line removed from regulator, check fuel pump first, then pressure regulator.

Check for pinched or broken vacuum hoses. With engine idling, observe fuel pressure. Check for increase in fuel pressure by disconnecting vacuum hose at pressure regulator. If fuel pressure does not rise, check for vacuum to regulator. On all models, lightly pinch return hose. If fuel pressure is now within specification, replace regulator. If pressure is not within specification, recheck fuel pump for pressure and volume. The fuel pressure regulator is located on the throttle body. See Fig 1 .
