DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) IDENTIFICATION (CIVIC)

DTC (1) System Affected
0 (2) Engine Control Module (ECM)
0  Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) Inoperative
0  MIL Stays On Or Comes On After 2 Seconds
1  Oxygen Sensor (O2S) (D15B8 Except Calif Model)
1  Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (D15B7, D15B8 Calif, D15Z1 & D16Z6)
3  Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor
4  Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
5  Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor
6  Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor
7  Throttle Position (TP) Sensor
8  Top Dead Center (TDC) Sensor
9  No. 1 Cylinder Position (CYP) Sensor
10  Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor
12  Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System
13  Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor
14  Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve

41  Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Heater (D15Z1 Except Calif Model)
41  Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Heater (D15B7, D15B8, D15Z1 Calif & D16Z6)

48  Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (D15Z1 Except Calif Model)
(1) If codes appear other than those listed in table, verify code. If code is not listed, replace ECM.
(2) Two different charts are available for testing. Ensure correct chart is used.
(3) MIL will not illuminate when a malfunction occurs in Electrical Load Detector (ELD). MIL will indicate appropriate DTC when Service Check Connector is shorted.

(1) If codes appear other than those listed in table, verify code. If code is not listed, replace ECM.
(2) For DTC 0 testing, see NO DTC  testing chart.
(3) Does not apply to Canadian models.
(4) MIL will not illuminate when a malfunction occurs in Electrical Load Detector (ELD). MIL will indicate appropriate DTC when Service Check Connector is shorted (except Canadian models).
(5) Applies only to 1.6L DOHC and SOHC VTEC 16-valve engine.
(6) Applies only to 1.6L DOHC 16-valve VTEC engine.
