Starter Switch Signal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Honda Odyssey. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: This signal informs the PCM when the engine is being cranked.
  1. Place transaxle in Park or Neutral. On manual transaxle vehicles, depress clutch. Measure voltage between PCM connector terminals A9 and C6. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, starter switch signal is okay.
  2. If battery voltage does not exist, inspect STARTER SIGNAL fuse located in underdash fuse/relay box. If fuse is okay, repair open in wire between STARTER SIGNAL fuse and PCM connector terminal C6. See Figure . If fuse is not okay, repair short in wire between PCM connector terminal C6 and STARTER SIGNAL fuse or between PCM connector terminal C6 and PGM-FI main relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  section.
