Arming Security System

The security system control unit has a 3-position switch: manual, auto and auto lock.

When system is armed, parking lights will flash once and security indicator will flash once per second, regardless of switch position. With switch in MANUAL position, system can only be armed using remote control transmitter. If vehicle is equipped with power door locks, doors will lock automatically when system is armed.

With switch in AUTO or AUTO LOCK position, system will self-arm approximately 20 seconds after engine shut down, key is removed from ignition and last door, hood, trunk or hatch is closed. Remote control transmitter may also be used. If any door is opened during time delay cycle, timer will automatically reset when door is closed.
