Control Unit Input Test (Passenger's)

  1. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Turn ignition off. Remove passenger's door trim panel.
  2. Remove passenger's multiplex control unit from right front door. Ensure connector and socket terminals are okay. Repair as necessary and retest system. If connector and terminals are okay, using a DVOM, perform control unit input test as indicated. See Fig 1 . If an input test indicates a problem, find and correct cause and retest system. If all input test results are okay, replace faulty multiplex communications control unit.
