VTEC Solenoid Valve

Check for resistance between ground and VTEC solenoid valve connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is not 14-30 ohms, replace VTEC solenoid valve. If resistance is 14-30 ohms, remove VTEC solenoid valve assembly from cylinder head. Check VTEC solenoid valve filter for clogging. If clogging is found, replace engine oil and filter. If filter is not clogged, push VTEC solenoid valve pintle with finger to check movement. If VTEC solenoid valve pintle does not move freely, replace VTEC solenoid valve. If VTEC solenoid valve pintle moves freely, check engine oil pressure.
