DTC B1205: A/C Control Panel Lost Communication with Gauge Control Module (VSP/NE message); DTC B1206: A/C Control Panel Lost Communication with Gauge Control Module (ENGTEMP message); DTC B1207: A/C Control Panel Lost Communication with Gauge Control Module (ILLUMI message)

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF then ON.
  2. Turn the A/C control system on and operate several functions (A/C ON/OFF, air mix and blend door operations, temperature settings etc.).
  3. Check for DTCs using the HDS.

    Is DTC indicated? 

    1. YES  -
      • DTC B1205 indicated: go to step 4.
      • DTC B1206 or B1207 indicated: go to step  5.
    2. NO  - Intermittent failure, the gauge control module and A/C control panel are OK at this time.
  4. Check for DTCs using the HDS.

    Is DTC B1060 indicated? 

    1. YES  - Perform the gauge control module self test procedure (see SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION ).
    2. NO  - The A/C control panel is faulty, replace the A/C control panel.
  5. Disconnect the A/C control panel connector A (22P).
  6. Remove the gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT ).
  7. Check for continuity between the No. 10 terminal of A/C control panel connector A (22P) and the No. 25 terminal of the gauge control module 30P connector.

    Is there continuity? 

    1. YES  - Check for loose wire or poor connections at A/C control panel connector A (22P) and at the gauge control module 30P connector. If the connections are good, substitute a known-good A/C control panel and/or gauge control module, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original A/C control panel and/or gauge control module.
    2. NO  - Repair open in the wire between the A/C control panel and the gauge control module.
