Integrated Control Unit Input Tests: Civic

  1. Remove driver's side instrument panel lower cover and knee bolster. Unplug 10-pin connector from Integrated Control Unit (ICU), and remove ICU from underdash fuse/relay box. Inspect connector terminals for damage or corrosion. Repair as necessary and retest system. If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Use a DVOM to perform control unit input tests. See Fig 1. If an input test indicates a problem, find and correct cause and retest system. If all input test results are okay, replace faulty ICU.
NOTE: For more information, see INTEGRATED CONTROL UNIT -- CIVIC article under COMMUNICATION DEVICES.
