DTC P1121 & DTC P1122: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

  1. If DTC P1121 is indicated, turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check throttle position. With throttle valve fully open, if TP percentage is 13.7 percent or more, problem is intermittent. System is functioning properly at this time. If TP percentage is less than specified, replace throttle body (TP sensor cannot be serviced separately).
  2. If DTC P1122 is indicated, turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check throttle position. With throttle valve fully closed, if TP percentage is 17.3 percent or less (A/T), or 18.9 percent or less (M/T), problem is intermittent. System is functioning properly at this time. If TP percentage is more than specified, replace throttle body (TP sensor cannot be serviced separately).
