- Disconnect the 4P connector from the cruise control actuator.

- Remove the actuator cover.
- Connect battery power to the No. 2 terminal of the 4P connector, and connect ground to the No. 1 terminal.
- Check the magnetic clutch for proper engagement. You should hear a clicking sound and the output linkage should be locked.
- If the output linkage is not locked, replace the cruise control actuator assembly.
- With power and ground still connected as in step 3, connect battery power to the No. 4 terminal and ground to No. 3 terminal, and check that the output linkage starts to turn from the fully closed position and stops at the fully opened position by the motor in the actuator.
- Reverse power and ground at connector terminals, No. 4 and No. 3, and check that the output linkage reverses and stops at the fully closed position.

- If the output linkage moves sluggishly, or the motor does not operate properly, replace the cruise control actuator assembly.
