Initial Check
Question the customer about the conditions when the problem occurred. Try to reproduce the conditions during testing. Find out when the ABS and/or TCS indicator came on, such as during ABS control, after ABS control, when vehicle speed was at a certain speed, etc.
Self-diagnostic procedures assume that cause of problem is still present and ABS indicator light and/or TCS indicator light is still on. Performing self-diagnostic procedures when ABS indicator light and/or TCS indicator light does not illuminate can result in incorrect diagnosis.
When the ABS or TCS indicator does not illuminate based on the DTC, check for loose connectors, poor contact of the terminals, etc.
After repair is complete, test drive vehicle and ensure ABS indicator light and TCS light do not illuminate.
