Driver's Multiplex Control Unit

  1. Remove underdash fuse/relay box. See UNDERDASH FUSE/RELAY BOX  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove driver's multiplex control unit from underdash fuse/relay box. Disconnect driver's multiplex control unit harness connector. Check driver's multiplex control unit harness connectors for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. If problem exists, repair as necessary and retest system. If connectors are okay, go to next step.
  2. With driver's multiplex control unit connectors disconnected, perform driver's multiplex control unit input tests at indicated connector terminals. See Fig 1 . Go to next step.
  3. Connect driver's multiplex control unit connectors. Perform input tests by backprobing indicated connector terminals. See Fig 2 . If any input test is not within specification, locate and repair problem, then recheck system. If input tests are within specification, substitute known-good driver's multiplex control unit and retest system. If problem is fixed, replace original driver's multiplex control unit. If problem is still present, reinstall driver's multiplex control unit and test passenger's multiplex control unit. See PASSENGER'S MULTIPLEX CONTROL UNIT  .
